More than 100 people attend conference on Metal Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace Applications

More than a hundred experts met yesterday in the conference on Metal Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace Sector Applications held at the Aerópolis Business Centre in Seville.

The conference participants included well-known national and international companies such as AIRBUS DEFENCE & SPACE, DLR (German Aerospace Center), ITP AERO, RENISHAW, CITD, TRYO AEROSPACE, ALESTIS AEROSPACE and PRINCIPIA, among other enterprises. They shared with the public their experience implementing metal additive manufacturing technologies.

The afternoon was marked by a presentation of the ADDISPACE INTERREG SUDOE Project given by various partners of the consortium. They explained the progress in the overall project as well as developments to date in the four pilot experiences or case studies, whose aim is to demonstrate the viability of using different metal additive manufacturing technologies to make real components for the aerospace sector. Parallel to this, several B2B meetings were held, where those attending were able to share experience and make new contacts.

The conference ended with the participants visiting the CATEC Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies, where they were able to gain first-hand knowledge of the facilities and equipment as well as technological developments that the CATEC is working on.
